Daddy was the Chief of Falcon Construction. Back in the early 70s he and mom decided to open the business. He did not know what to call it. Uncle Fred told me of the story of him and Dad driving down a road talking about this and suddenly a Falcon (car) drove past, and thus Falcon Construction was born. One of the things I admired was that dad did not shy from hard work. I remember him getting up in the middle of the night to go take care of a manhole breach. A lot of the men that worked for him were family and former coworkers. All of them affectionately called him Chief or Red. The men respected him and he gave everyone a chance even hiring ex-cons to give them training and a fresh start. The home office was perfect.
